Maria has been immersed in a spiritual and body movement practice for over 16 years.
She is the founder of the Soma Yoga 200hr Teacher Training in Mexico and has had the opportunity to learn from different yoga and movement teachers, doing her RYT-200 with Mayra Cadengo from Sattva Yoga, her RYT-300 with Christopher Shane Perkins from Yandara Yoga School, Certified in the Yoga Detour Method by Cecily Milne of Yoga Detour, in Mindful Strength Training by Kathryn Bruni-Young, and Certified in Yoga Tune Up by Yoga Tuneup Fitness and in Movement for Trauma Level 1 and Level 2 and Jungian Somatics Conscious Practitioner by Janeth Clapp, Certified in MindBody Therapy, she has completed her studies of Transpersonal Psychology Education with Macuil Institute. María is a Somatic Experiencing Student and BodyMindMovement Educator and currently in training in Continuum Movement. Maria is E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) and YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider).
Ornithologist and Engineer in Natural Resources Management with a specialty in Wildlife Management at the UANL and the University of Goettingen, Germany.
Co-creator of KiekariTerra A.C. and member of the World Commission on Natural Protected Areas. It works on projects for the conservation of endangered species (Quetzal, Elegant Eagle, Harpy Eagle and Jaguar) and Protected Natural Areas. Certificate in Permaculture Design Certificate by Naluum Institute of Permaculture and Bioconstruction with Bamboo by Colectivo Kima.
Kat(i)e has been practicing yoga since 2017 and first arrived at KiekariTerra to train as a movement educator in June of 2021. Six months later, she returned to stay.
The ongoing process of becoming again in harmony with the true essence of her being has brought a sense of home and wholeness through nature, music, movement, and other forms of creative expression. She is originally from the U.S.
